Presentation of the Model European Rules of Civil Procedure

On 10 September 2020, the ELI-UNIDROIT Model European Rules of Civil Procedure were presented to the ELI membership.

The panel discussion was co-chaired by Diana Wallis (ELI) and Anna Veneziano (UNIDROIT) and featured Paul Oberhammer, John Sorabji, Marco de Benito and Rolf Stürner. The Rules, already approved by ELI, are awaiting final approval by the UNIDROIT Governing Council.

The Model Rules will reduce uncertainty for parties litigating in unfamiliar surroundings and promote fairness, judicial cooperation and access to justice in civil proceedings in Europe.
